Another new piece hot out of the kiln and what fun it was to do too.  This was a commissioned piece to go in a bath to hide the road outside.  I have a lot of fun putting together a design from elements that a client suggests.  This window has native american symbols that have meaning for the clients and enjoyment for me.

I have the window spot for the next several weeks at Boulder Arts & Crafts Gallery and I think it looks super.  This shot is of the opening evening. 

Considering I didn’t use a flash because of all the glass reflections or use my tripod, I think the pic turned out well.  Maybe I will go back and use that tripod on an evening when the window is lit up but the store is closed.  Might look better. 

We had another great year at GR and cranked away on some new work.  WE also ate lots.

There certainly is a theme here and it carried out throughout.  Maybe I am doing a little reflection these days and the shiny foil is something to bounce it all off of.  My goal now is to improve my chinese brushwork for the center details as I am sure there are more of these to come….

I did a trade with a metal art friend for a table for a glass top that I posted the photo of a while ago.   I made him 2 pieces that he could choose between.

I was thinking textiles in both these pieces and this I call “Native weave”.  They both are 16″ X 16″.

This I call “Rivers & Stones” & I like the tactile feeling it has more than the first.  I did the first one first then second guessed myself and did this next thinking the first was not organic enough.  Well, he picked the first.. Just goes to show you,  I usually have it right the first time.

This is the left side of a commission that went to Michagan.  Each side is 18″wide and 60 ” tall.

This piece took lots of time but I liked the way it turned out. It also was out of my zone, but I think that just pushes one in new directions. It will border a window that looks out on a nice lake scene and the owner likes to fish and hunt so that is where I went with it.

This is a detail of the left side pattern bar.  This piece was delivered fine and hung and the customer loved it.  An hour or so later the molding that surrounds the window came loose and it crashed to the floor.  Looks like I will be doing it again.  Job security I think that is called…

Once again it’s about time I posted something.  Every day I visit my favorite blogs of women (mostly) that put something up that is relevant constantly and I love to read them.  I guess I don’t have that much to say.  That doesn’t sound like me.  But…

This glass piece sells in the gallery constantly so the image must resonate with others as it does with me.  This is my little mare that passed on last year and one of my favorite images of her was this.  She always had a bird or several sitting on her back and I know they had plenty to visit about, so why not some tea also.

We had a wonderful spring snow and Mija was in doggie heaven.  She’s not looking forward to the warmer weather of summer, although the creek is OK…

It’s really hard to get a good photo of a mirror.  Either you get a weird background or you get a photo of yourself taking a picture.  Nice…Here I sat on the ground and got the sky, somewhat overcast. 

This mirror goes into a bathroom of a woman that has lived in Hawaii and loves ocean things and flowers.  26″ x 40″

Where have I been and what’s going on that I cannot seem to keep up on this site?? Lots, even tho I feel life coming back to me I guess it’s slower than I think.  I am getting used to a transition time and liking my time alone, after 34 years in a relationship sometimes things grab one in am unpredictable way.

The glass is still happening although since I must support myself it definitely is aimed at salable items.  This valentine happened in February and sold quickly and that shows exactly where I need to direct my work these days.  So, onward and I promise to update more often..

This was a fun piece with pattern bars and little painted pieces etc.  The color is not true as it is an emerald green background, but you get the picture.  My fav metal man did a super job matching the table to the lamp I think.
